Leadership Clark County Names Sherrie Jones New Executive Director

Clark County, Wash. (March 26, 2018) – Leadership Clark County (LCC) has appointed Sherrie Jones as the organization’s new Executive Director.

Jones will be responsible for oversight of the organization’s fundraising, fiscal,  management, program and donor relations activities. As an alumnus of the 2016 LCC class, she brings her experiences with the program as well as her passion for community, service, and leadership. Sherrie is originally from Yelm, WA where she started her volunteer activities as a cheer and dance coach. With the start of her banking career, she found herself even more involved in her local community; including volunteering as an ambassador with the Thurston County Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Olympia Downtown Association.

In 2012, Sherrie made the move to Clark County where she was fortunate to find herself at Camas Meadows Golf Club, a place that also values community involvement. As Business Development Manager, she worked with dozens of local organizations each year, including the Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce, Southwest Washington Contractors Association, Columbia River Economic Development Council, and the Building Industry Association of Clark County.  Most notably, Sherrie was a board member for Concerts for a Cause and played an integral part in the success of the summer concert series.

Founded in 1993, Leadership Clark County (LCC) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan civic leadership development program. Through practical and experiential activities, including interaction with key decision-makers in the public, private and nonprofit sectors, participants gain in-depth knowledge of our community and leadership skills that enable them to be more effective in their community involvement. The nine-month program runs September through May and participants are selected through a competitive application process. Nearly 800 people have completed the program and serve our community as nonprofit board members, civic group leaders, business leaders and elected officials.

Within a short time of completing the program, I targeted areas in the community I am passionate about, and I increased my involvement and volunteering.
