LCC wants to help your non-profit or public sector organization

LCC is looking for community nonprofits or public sector organizations who would like to engage with a team of community leaders from the LCC class of 2020 to complete a project. As a central part of the LCC experience, class participants collaborate with community partners to address an organizational challenge in our community during the year with projects occurring between October 2019-May 2020. Getting involved is as simple as preparing a letter of interest that answers these two questions:

  1. What challenge or area of need in your organization could you use a group of volunteer leaders to help explore? (explain in a paragraph or two)
  2. Are you able to commit 2-4 hours per month to work with a LCC volunteer group to define a plan and act on it between October 2019 and May 2020? (yes, no)

We especially encourage LCC alums who serve on boards, committees, commissions and task forces to consider submitting a letter of interest. Please note that projects must be completed within the class year, which ends in May 2020.

If you are interested or would like to learn more about this opportunity, please answer the following questions and submit to director@leadershipclarkcounty.com by August 31st. Qualified letters of interest will be invited to an open workshop on September 13th, from 8:30-9:30, to learn more about the Leadership Clark County project process and will also have time to work directly with members of the Curriculum Team to refine and/or discuss your project ideas.

Jones will be responsible for oversight of the organization’s fundraising, fiscal, management, program and donor relations activities. As an alumnus of the 2016 LCC class, she brings her experiences with the program as well as her passion for community, service, and leadership. Sherrie is originally from Yelm, WA where she started her volunteer activities as a cheer and dance coach. With the start of her banking career, she found herself even more involved in her local community; including volunteering as an ambassador with the Thurston County Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Olympia Downtown Association.

In 2012, Sherrie made the move to Clark County where she was fortunate to find herself at Camas Meadows Golf Club, a place that also values community involvement. As Business Development Manager, she worked with dozens of local organizations each year, including the Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce, Southwest Washington Contractors Association, Columbia River Economic Development Council, and the Building Industry Association of Clark County. Most notably, Sherrie was a board member for Concerts for a Cause and played an integral part in the success of the summer concert series.
