Leadership Clark County Class of 2017 Graduation is June 8th

Leadership Clark County (LCC) invites the public to celebrate the graduation of the LCC Class of 2017 on Thursday, June 8th at Washington State University Vancouver. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the ceremony begins at 6:00 p.m. A reception will follow the graduation ceremony. This year’s commencement speaker is Stacey Graham, President of the Humane Society for Southwest Washington. The event is free of charge.

The graduation caps the Class of 2017’s nine-month experience in LCC’s Leadership Development Program, during which they participate in sessions related to a variety of community topics such as economic drivers, diversity, education, and social services. Class members also work in small teams on projects directly benefitting community partners.

About LCC – Leadership Clark County is a nonprofit, nonpartisan civic leadership development program. Founded in 1993, participants are selected through a competitive application process and gain in-depth knowledge of our community and leadership skills that enable them to be more effective in their community involvement. The nine-month program runs September through May and is offered annually to individuals from Clark County's private, nonprofit and public sectors. Nearly 700 people have completed the program and serve our community as nonprofit board members, civic group leaders, business leaders and elected officials.

Within a short time of completing the program, I targeted areas in the community I am passionate about, and I increased my involvement and volunteering.
